Can a savvy sixteen year old mulatto girl, a sexy female PI and a Labrador puppy save a nearly blind middle aged lawyer from three enraged killers and a sweet old lady?

Gregory John, a fifty five year old, semi-retired, self made millionaire, criminal lawyer who, after waking up one morning in his Victorian mansion to find his wife lying beside him stone cold, comes to the conclusion he has more money than he can ever spend. He decides to dedicate what's left of his time on earth, working from home, specializing in pro bono cases for defendents accused of crimes he belives they didn't commit and who couldn't afford a competent lawyer.  He is in  the first stages of Macular Degeneration, and is dependent on his year old Seeing Eye Dog, Brutus, to get around.

Carrie Anne, a sixteen year old Mulatto girl who is as cute as a button and savvy beyond her years has just been promoted to Mr. Johns executive assistant. Her fiance is a 24 year old reserve cop who she calls "Mikey my math teacher."

As the story unfolds, four of Gregory's ex-clients, who he was unable to save from the long arm of the law, come after him, with the intent of doing him in. They are not prepared for the help he receives from a bevy of his cohorts, or the secrets of the Painted Lady he lives in.
